Launch Hematology Analyzer URIT 5160

RAL presents the new Hematology Analyzer for veterinary Urit 5160.

It is a 5-population analyzer with laser technology for cell differentiation. It also allows to analyze the reticulocytes in case the client believes it is necessary.
As with our other veterinary analyzers It is a device designed specifically for this market. Includes 13 programmed species and 3 open channels.

Features
The Urit 5160 detects 28 parameters, among which are the 5 leukocyte populations (LYM, MON, NEU, EOS and Base) and reticulocytes.
Reticulocytes are not determined in the general analysis but must be done separately. This way the customer saves the reticulocyte spending if it is not necessary.
It uses only 20 µ L of sample and has a speed of up to 60 samples/hour.
The screen is 10.4 inches and completely tactile so its handling is very simple.

Reticulocyte analysis is performed on an optional basis at the request of the user.

Reticulocytes
In addition to the 5 leukocyte populations, the main characteristic of Urit is its ability to determine reticulocytes
Reticulocytes are immature RBC. Slightly larger than RBC, mature in the bone marrow and circulate for a few days in the blood before it develops completely in RBC. Like RBC, mammalian reticulocytes have no nucleus.
It is llamanreticulocitos because once dyed, the lattice of RRNA (RNA ribosomal, the predecessor of DNA) is observed in the microscope.

The analyzer gives us values in total number (Ret #) percentage (ret%) and also indicates the ratio of immature reticulocytes over the total (IRF)

What is its clinical significance?
The RET number in healthy patients is low, but some conditions or illnesses cause an increase in these.
In situations of anemia, the body increases RBC production and releases them earlier into the blood causing the RET number to increase.
Hemolysis can cause anemia and may be caused by inadequate transfusion or immune diseases. In puppies, anemia may occur due to the presence of fleas.
Some medications may also cause RET gain without anemia.
The main reason for the presence of a low RET value are non-regenerative anemias that occur in situations in which the patient has tumors, chronic inflammation, feline leukemia, viral infections, medical treatments, etc.

Other parameters
In addition to the traditional parameters, the Urit 5160 offers new parameters
LIC: Large Immature cells. Considered as the sixth leukocyte population.. They’re WBC. These are immature, myeloid or combined lymphoid cells. They are usually found in the bone marrow and once matured in each cell type are released in the blood. If they are released before they have completely matured it may be due to conditions of infection, bone marrow regeneration or neoplastic conditions.
NRBC: They are RBC of mammals with nucleus. They’re also a type of immature RBC. Symptoms of increased RBC production in the bone marrow.
ALY: Atypical lymphocytes. are larger and with more cytoplasm. Symptom that the immune system is responding to an infection, vaccine, or tumor.

Advantages of the URIT 5160
Urit is the only hematologic analyzer of 5 market populations with optional reticulocytes. The analysis of these is the cause of the high price of the tests, so with our system, in the majority of patients the client is saving by not wasting a test of reticulocytes.
